KPI (Key Performance Indicator)
A Key Performance Indicator (KPI) is a measurable value that demonstrates how effectively a company is achieving key business objectives.
So basically companies use KPIs to evaluate their success at reaching their targets. Which KPIs a company is choosing for measuring their performance is largely depending on the industry the company works in as well as which part of the business they are looking to track. Each department will use different KPI types to measure success based on specific business goals and targets.
Even within the mobile app world, different apps require different KPIs depending on their differences in function, target audience and market position. Nevertheless here are some of the most important and most common KPIs in mobile advertising:
- App Downloads
- App Store Ranking
- Average Revenue per User (ARPU)
- Lifetime Value (LTV)
- Conversion Rate
- Session Length
Once a company has selected it’s key business metrics, they can track these in a real-time reporting pool. KPI tracking can be done using a dashboard software, giving the entire organization insights into their current performance.
