Mobile Advertising Definition
Mobile Advertising is a type of advertising that appears on mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets with wireless connections. It is a subset of mobile marketing.
As mobile devices meanwhile outnumber most other devices, the chances of a potential customer seeing a mobile ad are greater than that of most other advertising formats today. One of the most popular models in mobile advertising is cost-per-install (CPI). In this model the payment is based on the user installing an application on his mobile device. CPI Mobile Advertising Networks either work as incent or non-incent. In the incentivized model, the user is given virtual points or rewards to install the game or app.
There are various types of mobile advertising formats:
- Offerwalls
- Rewarded Videos
- Banners
- Interstitials
- Videos
Mobile advertisers usually target users according to specified demographics and features. Mobile networks identify related mobile profiles and references and display corresponding advertisements when users download and use data service like mobile games or applications.
Because mobile devices typically have smaller screens than computers or laptops, this form of digital advertising is usually optimized for small displays by being concise.
